Fall 2007
"I came to NDSU Fall of 2002 not really knowing what to expect because NDSU wasn't my first choice. Almost four years now, I'm glad I came. I think one thing I have learned is that there's always someone to listen and to help if you ask. The university system is quite diverse with student interests as priority. Academically, there are quite a number of majors to choose from. If you run into problem doing this, there are programs geared toward helping one decide. Every student has an Academic Advisor from acceptance. Another option is the Career Counselling service. Depending on the college one is placed at acceptance there is also the Mentor/Protege program in which one is connected with professionals in one's field of study. On-Campus housing is available for students and it offers much ease. Majority of those who apply are placed. And if you choose to eat at the university cafetaria or make your meals, campus housing allows this and provides the flexibility that suits ones schedule and lifestyle. Organizations! A definte must for every new student. One is not required to join any but getting involved as soon as possible is a plus. Organizations can be honorary, professional, academic, ethnic, religious etc. Benefits include and are not limited to improving one's communication skills, meeting new people, networking with people (even outside NDSU) and plus you don't want to get to your last semester in college and wonder why you never had fun in college or why you don't know more than what you learn in class."
