Intensive English Programs (ESL)

"My goal in the near future is to start the International Policy Studies (IPS ) program at the Monterey Institute. While looking at how to apply for the program, I remember that I saw the EAPP courses and I just said, “This is what I need”. When I arrived in Monterey, my only goal was to improve my English, especially my writing and speaking skills, and I made it!!! Nevertheless, for me the experience goes beyond that. Now I have more confidence in myself and I feel more secure. At this point, I know that I can face any of the projects in the IPS program, because I developed the capacity to lead a class discussion and hold the audience’s attention in an appropriate way, I learned the keys to being an active listener, and I improved my grammar more than I could imagine. Furthermore, the EAPP faculty is amazing. They really take their time to prepare the class, to share knowledge with the students, to provide feedback, but most importantly, they are always encouraging and push students to do their best. Now I am so much more ready to begin the IPS program here at the Institute and in the near future I look forward to working in an international organization for those who don’t have the voice and the power to be heard. I believe that the EAPP program has helped pave the way for me to follow this professional dream of mine."
