On June 6th, 2009(Saturday)
At first the student council members met at Ala Moana beach park’s entrance. After we met Shanti, we moved to Ala Moana beach park Magic island for the potluck.The students started arriving at around 12:00 pm. We had a party of around 40 people by 1pm.
All the students brought food along. There was Chinese, Japanese, Korean, American, and Italian food. It was quite an international buffet.
After lunch the Student Council organized some games. This term was the first as a one Nice program. In addition, many students had changed their tracks. Our goals for the games were to give the students from different tracks the opportunity to mingle and socialize with everyone in an English speaking environment. Moreover, the objective of the team games was like a team building exercise to enable all the students to play together.
The first game we played was a handkerchief game
1. Handkerchief game: The students formed a big circle and one person ran around the circle and dropped the handkerchief behind a student in the circle. This student had to catch the student who dropped the handkerchief. If the catcher could not catch the dropper the catcher had a forfeit. They had to sing dance or write their names in the air with their rear. It was extremely hilarious. I got some great pictures from this game.
2. Crazy soccer: We decided on 5 groups for tournament.
We prepared 2 bottles for goal, when a team knocked down the bottle they were the winner of that game.
Finally group C won this game and they received prize from NICE
After that we had a lottery. The prize was NICE T-shirtsJ
